Job Description Reporting to the General Manager, the Roadmaster is responsible to ensure that the track is in safe conditions for passage of trains and to manage the day-to-day supervision of a MOW workforce. Company: Quebec-Gatineau Railway inc.Location: Trois-Rivières, QCSalary: Salary is based on experience and G&W’s wage scale.Status: PermanentResponsibilities:The Roadmaster fulfills the following obligations:Is responsible for day-to-day supervision of the MOW workforceExecute day-to-day operations (recommend work programs and maintenance, allocate resources (employees, equipment, materials to address urgent situations)Coordinate and monitor operations (establish and communicate project specific goals and priorities, distribute workload amongst project participants, coordinate project objectives with conflicting activities, promote smooth operations, participate in service disruption resumption)Perform inspections (Switch, track, roadway, drainage, special inspection (flood, earthquake), identify and inventory gaps from specifications, prioritize repairs, ensure urgent defects are corrected)Inspect mainlines, sidings and industrial tracks in accordance with Operating Railway Specifications Keep records and files, submit reports, communicate and perform other administrative tasksEnsure compliance to Rules, Regulations, Standards, Norms, Policies and Guidelines (Participate in H&S Committee, job briefings, Audits, track employee training and qualifications)Insure engineering instructions pertaining to inspections, maintenance, and construction work is adhered efficiently plan work and allocate resources to ensure timely accomplishment of tasksResponsible for supporting engineering activities at major derailments and natural disastersRequirements and experience:Have a High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 10 years’ experience in the Railway industry and more particularly, in a Track departmentMinimum of 5 years in a leadership rolePosition requires impeccable communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with all levels of managementMust be able to speak English and French.Show a great autonomy and be resourcefulReady to work outside in different weather conditionsAble to adapt to changes: working hours, service calls, overtime, tasks to accomplish, etc.Other working conditions: Vacation, benefits and paid holidays are based on the company’s policies. If considered for the position, a full background check will be required (physical, drug, criminal and references) Company Description Genesee & Wyoming Inc.
